ChatGPT users have been waiting for this: The official smartphone app is now available for download in the App Store – free of charge and without advertising.
The manufacturer OpenAI has released a mobile app for its well-known chatbot ChatGPT for iOS. Here, OpenAI mentions that the mobile app contains the same functions as the web version.
This includes ChatGPT Plus support for paying customers who want access to more advanced versions of the GPT-4 service.
Additional speech recognition with Whisper

The app also includes Whisper , an open source speech recognition system developed by OpenAI. This allows users to verbally speak their commands or questions in the app. The iOS app also brings a feature not yet available in the web version: the ability to search saved chats.
OpenAI may have launched this app to counteract the proliferation of rogue apps that mimic ChatGPT and OpenAI and pretend to be the real provider. The Apple Store has several such apps, and Apple has taken action against such providers, particularly those attempting to exploit the GPT name. Some apps also claim to access the ChatGPT API.
ChatGPT app coming soon to Android
OpenAI also confirmed plans to make the ChatGPT iPhone app available in other countries . It is unknown whether Germany will be among them, but it can be assumed. An Android version of the app is also expected to be launched shortly.
